Graduate programs
The graduate study in the Institute of Chemical and Materials Engineering at Chang Gung University includes the masters courses and the doctors courses. The intake of the masters course is approximately 50 and of the doctors course is approximately 10 each year. The graduate students have to take lectures and particulate a research project in the institute. A graduate student is asked to write his/her own thesis and pass the viva before awarding the degree. Our aim is to train a higher-level engineer who has solid background in the related fields and has the ability to lead a project. Our faculties, staffs, facilities, research training and course training all make the graduates in our department an enlightening experience.
One graduate student is under the supervision of one or two professor(s) in the institute. A graduate student can choose one of the research topics in the field of chemical engineering or materials engineering. All of the 15 faculties in the institute are awarded with doctoral degrees in either chemical engineering or materials engineering and most of them have been serving in industries. Therefore, a research project can involve fundamental understanding of physics or can target at solving an industrial problem. Many research results are publishes in refereed journals and/or are patterned. Hence, our institute is regarded as one of the most active researching institutes in academia and in industry.
